Ink is not one chemistry
Ballpoint, gel, permanent marker and printer inks can use different dyes, pigments and carriers. That variation is why WashCareLab does not expose a universal ink treatment in the runtime solver.
Blot instead of spreading
For a fresh mark, avoid scrubbing it into a larger area. Keep the item away from dryer heat while you identify the fabric and select a treatment product that explicitly states compatibility with ink and that textile.
Keep solvent escalation out of the generic solver
Some published stain guides use solvent-based steps for certain inks. WashCareLab does not convert those into a universal automated instruction because finish, color and fabric compatibility can differ. For delicate, coated, valuable or dry-clean-only items, professional treatment is often the more controlled choice.
Wash only after a compatible pretreatment
If the garment care label and the chosen stain product allow laundering, wash according to those directions and inspect before drying. Persistent ink should not trigger improvised chemistry.

Avoid: Do not rub aggressively or escalate to an unreviewed solvent. For delicate, valuable, coated or dry-clean-only items, use professional care.

If the treatment product and care label permit washing, launder according to those directions.

Do not machine dry until the mark is removed or no further safe treatment is planned.
