There is no single sheet temperature
Sheets can be cotton, polyester blends, linen, silk, satin-like synthetics, flannel or other materials. Whirlpool’s sheet guidance uses different settings by fiber, which is why the finished-item care label is the safest starting point.
Use the warmest setting the fabric actually permits
A cotton sheet set may allow warm or hot water, while delicate fibers can call for cold water and a gentle cycle. Dark colors or special finishes may also have lower limits. Do not raise the temperature beyond the label because a generic hygiene article suggests it.
Keep the load compatible
Wash sheets with enough room to move and avoid combining them with bulky comforters or lint-heavy towels when that causes tangling, poor rinsing or surface lint. Pretreat stains before the main wash.
Match drying to the same care logic
Use the approved dryer setting or air-dry method and avoid prolonged unnecessary high heat. If a visible stain remains, treat it before repeated machine drying.
